Spider on the window

Overcast today. Lori doodles on the windows with her sharpie markers, forehead pressed to the cool glass. The keys hung around her neck on the dark blue UIC lanyard clank as they hit the the windows surface. She wonders about those High Rise Spiders, hanging on against the wind.
Like all of us, webs keeping us anchored lest we blow away.

Insect Sushi Platter

Lori wants to know have you ever had insect Sushi?
What kind of restaurants would serve this type.
Lori said this kind of Sushi is loaded with protein
- juicy on the inside crunchy on the outside.
I am not so sure I could eat it Lori too many legs for me.
it turns out that Lori doesn't like Sushi, she doesn't like fish period.
But shes still thinking about Insect Sushi.

Bugs on the Run

Behold the simple Wood Louse. He rolls along with most of us never giving him a second look.
Lori has her eye on a few special guys as a subject of her drawings and the ideal star for an animated short. Lori likes the fact that they are in a forest of trees and going to munch on the decay today.

Lori found this bit 'o' chip in the hallway outside the Media Lab and we put it under our powerful Media lab microscope.
Upon inspection we discovered Mr. Spider having dinner on the potato chip.
The main course- (Claro) of course -was Ants.

Worm your way into my Heart

Lori wishes you a wormy Valentines Day.

Mr. Starfish is surfing the web.

Mr. Starfish has made a list of his favorite things to do with his computer.
He can order meals online- Today he might order some sea food. He can talk with his undersea buddies, download nautical tunes, and watch episodes of Sea Hunt and Sponge Bob.

Walk the Dogs

Lori's image of the Chicago based Girl Punk Band Going to the Dogs shows them out walking dogs to make money for some instruments. The barking thing has gotten old, states Marcy we were inspired by those dogs barking Christmas carols CDs, after our show at the Cobra -now we need to learn how to play guitar and keyboards. Patti and Marcy practice what they preach by letting the dogs out. The pair are Vegan, devoted animal rights activists, who sing about keeping the fur on animals not humans.

Little Miss Muffet

Lori said that Lizzy is singing then along came a spider....
I think Lori was channeling a female version of the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy. Ahh the sweet sounds of the seventies, curds and whey, and of course throw in a spider for flavor
- dust off those musical cobwebs.

Lori would like to alert our well informed audience to a problematic summer predator." We have a problem with these darn spider cats around Little City. They keep popping up every where, making their Spider cat webs." Look for the gritty sparkle of clinging kitty litter in the web, it is a tell tale sign you got a Spider Cat web in your yard. "The Spider Cat is a predator for mice, birds, large insects and small unattended children.They mostly come out at night- Mostly!- Listen for the cat call of the Spider Cat --Meow- Hiss - Shissh - the last sound is the hairy legs of the Spider cat rubbing together."

My tummy was feeling a little out of sorts this morning.

Lori recommends the the consumption of Spiders and Worms as a preventive measure against the Flu.

Bug Bag Blog

So Lori where did you find this bug . On the rug in the front hallway. Was It dead? Tell me about the spider drawing?
I did it a long time ago I don't remember when. I just added stuff to it. Do you often work like that editing and adding things to your drawings? Yeah. Did you know the plastic bag is marked Tuna?
I don't like Tuna at all. NO not at all . I don't even like fish. For the Antarctica movie we are making did you draw any unlikeable fish, or just mammals? No- just Whales, Polar Bears, and Seals.
Do you want say anything about the movie?
I cant think too well my head is kinda fried today.
Is that because today is Friday-
